ALKYL PHENOLIC RESIN

Neoprene adhesive with modified alkyl phenolic resin is one of the most important adhesives available in the market. These adhesives have applications on a large scale in automotive, construction, furniture, leather, luggage and shoemaking industries. The all-purpose applications of these adhesives are due to their desirable adhesive strength, flexibility, fast curing and resistance to water. Their resistance to sunlight and heat is another advantage of them. The role of alkyl phenolic resin in the formulation of solvent-based neoprene adhesives is increasing heat resistance, adhesive property, creating more bonds for special adhesive characteristics and adhesive stability. All the properties mentioned above depend on the kind and quality of alkyl phenolic resin in the production process. The materials used in the formulation of this adhesive are mainly:

1-alkyl phenolic resin

2-neoprene

3-solvent

4-magnesium oxide

5-zinc oxide

6-anti oxidant

7-filling materials suitable for making tough networks

The main properties of these kinds of phenolic resins are as follows

1-Having excellent compatibility with neoprene.

2-Increasing open time tack

3-Strengthening special adhesive characteristics of objects like glass, metal and other surfaces without holes.

4- Creating a complex chemical structure with magnesium oxide and increasing the softening point of the resin
